Once you have arrived at your Verto Program location, work with your Academic Success Coordinator to compile your documents and prepare and submit your Verto Partner Application.
Each Direct Transfer Partner has specific requirements for students to earn guaranteed admission through their Verto experience. If a college sparks your interest, but you’re worried about meeting their requirements for the Direct Transfer Guarantee, don’t be discouraged. While these partners offer conditional admission by meeting their specific Direct Transfer requirements, many also conduct a holistic and comprehensive review of applicants. Colleges are always looking to identify academically promising students who enhance their campus communities.
We are thrilled to extend an admission offer to Verto participants who meet our outlined eligibility requirements. This unique opportunity provides a global, transformative learning experience designed to help you begin your college journey on a high note. The curriculum encourages both personal growth and academic achievement, setting the stage for success at the UVM University campus.
If you were invited to Verto by UVM, your requirements may differ. Visit your invitation link for more information and to apply to Verto.
Since 1791, the University of Vermont has worked to move humankind forward. Today, UVM is a Public Ivy and top research university of a perfect size, large enough to offer a breadth of ideas, resources, and opportunities, yet small enough to enable close faculty-student mentorship across all levels of study, from bachelor’s to M.D. programs.
Here, students’ educational experience and activities are enriched by our location — from the energy and innovation of Burlington to the forests, farms, and independent spirit of Vermont. UVM provides students endless ways to explore the world, challenge ideas, and dig in on the most pressing issues of our time.
With over 100 majors and almost 100 more opportunities for advanced degrees, our fields of study are broad and the intellectual pools are deep. And the best part is that ideas flow in all directions — English majors study economics, engineering majors study ethics. Top majors include:
- Psychology
- Business & Economy
- Political Science
- Environment And Sustainability
- Food & Agricultural Studies
Once a student has been admitted and pays the enrollment fee to commit to attending the University of Vermont, they will receive a New Student Checklist in their admissions portal. This will help keep them on track with all of the transitional requirements. Students can also work with the UVM Transfer Admissions team to help support their transition ([email protected])
All students are automatically considered for merit scholarships during the admissions process. Out of state students an earn up to $10,000, and in-state students can earn up to $5,000 per year. There is no separate application to apply.
Student Organizations: Over 90% of our students are engaged in clubs, organizations, athletics, or other hands-on learning opportunities.
Housing: Students who are under 20 on the first day of classes are guaranteed on-campus housing.
Study Abroad: Hundreds of students from all academic programs participate in study abroad opportunities. There are scholarships available to support your next experience abroad
To earn guaranteed admission through the Direct Transfer Pathway, during your time with Verto you will need:
- 3.0+ GPA
- Minimum 15 credits
Mid-term grades must be at 3.0 or higher. Programs with space limitations may close early. Students must uphold good citizenship. All students must meet minimum entrance requirements.
Nursing, Exercise Science, Medical Radiation Sciences, and Medical Lab Sciences are not available to transfer students. Additionally, some programs may be closed to spring intake and allow for a fall start only (Engineering, Rubenstein majors).
Students applying to competitive programs must meet minimum entrance requirements and maintain strength in core academic areas. The Grossman School of Business requires students to have college-level calculus and an economics course (micro or macro). The College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences requires students to have college-level calculus; Engineering majors must also have a college-level lab science course.
Yes! UVM welcomes both fall and spring transfers from Verto.
While you won’t be eligible for the guarantee, we still encourage you to work with your Verto Care Team to prepare and submit a Verto Partner Application for holistic review.
You are still eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee to UVM! The 3.0 GPA requirement is cumulative of all college transcripts
International students are eligible for the Direct Transfer guarantee for fall start only. Unfortunately, there is insufficient turnaround time for a spring start to allow for needed visa considerations.
If you have questions around the application process, work with your Verto Care Team. If you have UVM specific questions, you can connect with [email protected].
Once you arrive to your Verto location, you can begin working with Verto staff to prepare your application to UVM. Applications are typically sent following mid-terms, so your mid-term report can demonstrate your progress towards Direct Transfer eligibility.
